
Saint Paul Academy was founded by Faith Church on May 9 1990, on the basis of the possibilities provided by a new legal framework then taking effect, to safeguard the liberty of conscience, freedom of religion, and education.
The Academy is to educate theologians and ministers in Hungary and in the whole region. That is why it was named at the foundation Central-Eastern European Bible School and Pastor .s Training Institute.

The Academy was admitted by the Republic of Hungary in December, 1991. The Higher Education Act, passed in July 1993, ranked the academy among the theological seminaries.

On July 30 1995, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Hungary officially appointed three teachers at the Academy, Sandor Nemeth, Mrs. Sandor Nemeth, and Peter Uzoni, giving them the title of college professors, as well as confirming the position of Mrs. Sandor Nemeth as director of the institute from August 1 1995, for an undetermined period.

Saint Paul Academy was accredited by the Hungarian Accreditation Committee in 1999.

The name of the institute was changed from Central-Eastern European Bible School and Pastoral Institute to Saint Paul Academy in June, 1995.

Instruction began in October, 1990, in the form of regular, as well as correspondence courses. There were altogether 108 students attending our institute in the first academic year. The first graduates received their diploma in July, 1994. In this academic year of 1999/2000 the Academy has 460 students enrolled.
