Brief history of the institution
I. EDUCATION, INSTRUCTION

The goal of the Faculty of Theology at Saint Paul Academy is to have such theologians graduated, who prepare for the ministry by gaining modern and comprehensive knowledge about pastoral work and also by taking part in the practical life of the church during their student years at the Academy. The aim of the Academy is to come to know and understand the wisdom and teachings of the Scriptures for students and teachers alike. It is also a goal for them to achieve biblical lifestyle and morals, and to realise the law of faith in their lives.

The goal of scientific research at the Faculty is to achieve biblical, theological higher education with scientific value. It also aims to fill each discipline of theology with the values of the Bible, as they constitute basis of European culture. We also wish to make them well-known with the help of modern mass media.

The Faculty of Theology trains people who are already in the ministry and others, who are preparing to become ministers. When preparing people for the ministry it is important to emphasize the harmony of scientific quality and personal faith: the students mainly study the Scriptures and the related scientific fields, at the same time their personal faith grows and they also join the ministry, where it is possible for them to express their love towards others. The institution is not entitled to ordinance. Preparation for the ministry is a complex process and theology in higher education is only part of it. The teachers and students of Saint Paul Academy are faithful to the whole Scriptures, to the science born on the basis of the revelation of the Holy Spirit. They live in accordance with the Ten Commandments and the moral laws of the New Testament. They do not scandalise anyone with a life differing from these.

II. THE SPHERES OF OPERATION

Our students come from all over Hungary and even from abroad. Most of our foreign students - who are mainly from the Hungarian diaspora surrounding the country - also speak Hungarian as their mother tongue. Others learned Hungarian so as to be able to take part in God .s work in Hungary. The students of Saint Paul Academy, all speakers of the Hungarian language, come from all over Hungary and also from other Central- Eastern European countries. Thus our graduates may interpret in a living way God's message in and out of Hungary.

III. SOCIAL RELATIONS

Saint Paul Academy wishes to stabilize the good relationship with society on the basis of mutual tolerance. The education and research at Saint Paul Academy involve the demand for the renewal of Christian culture. It is also a goal of the education at Saint Paul Academy to cultivate universal Christian values and represent them at a high level in the society.
